In case 2 wires were inserted for a tumor smaller than 2 cm, the harpoon width times 2 was used for calculation. When the pathologic tumor diameter was smaller than the width of the wire harpoon (10 mm), the harpoon width was used to calculate the ORV, because the whole wire needs to be excised. In these cases, the total diameter of pure DCIS or the sum of the invasive and DCIS diameters was used for ORV calculation, as surgical excision is based on these dimensions. The maximum tumor diameter, used in the calculation of the ORV, is defined as the maximum diameter of invasive tumor, except in the case of pure ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) or preoperatively observed additional DCIS surrounding the invasive tumor. Thus, by following the wires that border the tumor and measuring the length of the wires, the surgeon is able to remove the lesion in a wire-defined cube. Wire length A and B, the lengths from the proximal border of the tumor to the harpoon tip, in proportion to the total wire length (cut at 10 cm), are essential for the surgeon during localization of the tumor and must be measured continuously to monitor the exact 3-dimensional position of the tumor in the breast ( Figures 1 and 2). The post wire placement images are preoperatively discussed between radiologist and surgeon. After insertion, the position of the wire(s) relative to the suspected lesion is verified by mammography in the lateral and craniocaudal directions. Likewise, a single wire is suitable to use in BWL when marking a lesion smaller than 10 mm, as this is the width of the harpoon at the wire tip ( Figure 1C). However, when anatomical borders are present as skin or pectoral fascia, often 1 wire is sufficient ( Figure 1B). ![]() When a tumor is located centrally in the breast, 2 wires are needed for defining tumor borders ( Figure 1A). ![]() Generally, the longest tumor diameter is delineated for wire placement. In BWL, the number of wires to be inserted and the way of inserting depends on specific modalities of each case ( Figure 1). In WGL, a single wire is placed close to the tumor. Wire-guided local excision requires wire insertion at the tumor site before surgery by a radiologist under ultrasound or stereotactic guidance.

Thankfully, the camera has a lot of settings to fine-tune the AF performance, including a sensitivity adjustment that can help it more easily track faster-moving subjects, as well as center priority settings that will prioritize focus points in the center of the AF area. Generally, it does a fair job of keeping up with its target, but you may still notice some hunting or dropping out of focus. General subject or object tracking is okay but falls short when compared to more advanced AF systems from Sony or Canon and even other MFT cameras like the Panasonic LUMIX GH5 II. ![]() It's certainly a step up from both the Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III and the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark IV, with a higher rate of in-focus shots. The camera includes face and eye detection and does a good overall job tracking moving human subjects. The Olympus E-M1 Mark III has a hybrid AF system that uses both phase-detection and contrast-detection AF points. Note also that at ISO settings above 8000, the max burst rate in silent and Pro Cap modes drops to 30 fps. The camera lets you set the burst rate at up to 60 fps in high-speed Pro Cap mode or up to 18 fps in low speed, as well as letting you choose how many pre-shutter frames it records.Īll of these modes give you a wide range of speeds to choose from and include an option to limit the frame count to 25 frames for those who want to ensure they don't fill up their card with an unnecessarily large number of shots. If you half-press the shutter and let go, the camera won't save any photos, but if you press all the way, it'll save a certain number of frames from before the full press and a number of frames after the press. The camera also has a 'Pro Capture' mode, available in both high and low speed, that lets you begin continuous shooting by half-pressing the shutter and finish a burst by pressing all the way. In silent mode, the camera can shoot at up to 60 fps in high-speed mode or up to 18 fps in low-speed mode. It's great for skittish wildlife or situations in which you need to be discreet. Both high and low sequential shooting are available in silent mode, which uses the electronic shutter at higher speeds to capture burst photos without noise. In this review, we aim at providing a broader view of how CD73 is involved in the immune evasion and tumor progression, thereby highlighting the importance of combination treatment arising from CD73 targeting currently under investigation in early phase clinical trials. The roles of CD73 on tumor and host cells as well as its prognosis and therapeutic value in human cancers have been recently discussed. These findings provide a distinct perspective on the role of CD73-generated adenosine in tumor development. This phenomenon is completely contrary to that observed in other tumor types, and results likely from context-dependent functions of the receptor in different tumor types. As the epithelial barrier function is essential for the inhibition of endometrial carcinomas with fewer intervening stromal or inflammatory cells in interconnected malignant glands, the loss of CD73 promotes adenosine deaminase endometrial tumor progression. CD73-generated adenosine seems to be required to sustain a physiological balance that maintains epithelial integrity in endometrial carcinomas with stable cell–cell adhesions mediated by A 1R. Strikingly, CD73-generated adenosine inhibits disease progression in these tumors. Unexpectedly, one recent report indicated a decrease of CD73 expression in poorly differentiated advanced-stage endometrial carcinoma and ovarian high-grade serous carcinoma. Consistent with the results from A2AR −/− and A2BR −/− mice, we and others have shown that CD73 −/− mice more readily reject tumors as compared with wild-type (WT) mice due to enhanced antitumor immunity and decreased carcinogenesis. In contrast, adenosine activation of A 2BR decreases the barrier function of vascular endothelium and promotes myeloid cells to acquire an anti-inflammatory (M2) phenotype that suppresses immune-mediated tumor cell eradication. Adenosine activation of A 2AR triggers cyclic AMP and protein kinase A signaling, which inhibits T cell receptor signaling and promotes the induction of Foxp3 + regulatory T cells (Tregs). Previous studies have underscored a negative role for extracellular adenosine within the tumor microenvironment by activating four distinct adenosine receptors (G protein-coupled receptors): A 1R, A 2AR, A 2BR and A 3R. CD73 knockout (CD73 −/−) mice also recapitulated some of the characteristics associated with arterial calcification cue to deficiency of CD73 (ACDC). However, recent work found that, CD73 insufficiency contributes to arterial calcification in humans with an autosomal recessive disease caused by loss-of-function mutations of Cd73. Strikingly, CD73 −/− mice are viable, indicating that CD73 is not vital under normal physiologic conditions. Despite the lack of extracellular adenosine signaling in CD73 −/− mice, extracellular ATP and ADP levels remain almost completely unchanged. During pathophysiological conditions, CD73-generated adenosine protects from tissue destruction through inflammation, ischemia and hypoxia. Adenosine induces immunosuppression, angiogenesis, mucosal hydration and ischemic preconditioning. CD73 is found on the surface of a variety of cell types, including endothelial cells, subtypes of lymphocytes, stromal cells and select types of tumor cells. Additionally, extracellular adenosine could be generated from the noncanonical pathway of CD38 (NAD + nucleosidase)-CD203a (ecto-nucleotide pyrophosphatase/phosphodiesterase 1)-CD73 that is independent of CD39. CD73 is essential for the generation of extracellular adenosine from 5′-adenosine monophosphate (5′-AMP) through the coordinated action of CD39 (ecto-nucleoside triphosphate diphosphohydrolase-1 ecto-NTPDase1) that catalyzes the phosphohydrolysis of ATP and ADP to AMP). CD73, known as ecto-5′-nucleotidase, is a cell surface glycosylphosphatidlinositol-anchored glycoprotein. ![]() I felt I could not only publish such a possession tactic without trying to explain the playing style more in-depth by handing you a tactical analysis of the tiki-taka playing style.
